Frequently Asked Questions

Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, Hermanus, Western Cape

Location & Getting Here

Where is Bona Dea Private Estate located?

Bona Dea sits in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, about 2.5km from Hermanus on the Cape Whale Coast. The full address is Farm 7/585 Camphill Road, Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, Hermanus, 7200, Western Cape.

Roughly 110km from Cape Town International Airport, about a 1 hour 20 minute drive via the N2, over Sir Lowry’s Pass, through Grabouw and Bot River, then onto the R43 and R320 into the valley.

Leave the airport on the N2 eastbound toward Somerset West. Stay on the N2 for roughly 100km, over Sir Lowry’s Pass and through Grabouw and Bot River. Just past Bot River, take the R43 toward Caledon/Hermanus and follow it for about 20km. Before reaching Hermanus, turn onto the R320 at the start of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley; Camphill Road branches off shortly after and is signposted for the estate.

Head toward the Sandbaai/Vermont side of town. At the four-way traffic light near the Sandbaai turnoff, turn right onto the R320 toward Caledon, with Hemel-en-Aarde Village on your left. Stay on the R320 for about two minutes, then take the Camphill Road turnoff on your left, a gravel road that reaches the estate in about two minutes.
